Antony Beevor

Committees: Governance & Nominations Committee (Chair), Renumeration & HR Committee, Chair’s Committee

After 10 years in practice as a solicitor, he spent 25 years in Hambros Bank's corporate finance department, being seconded for two years as Director-General of The Takeover Panel. Served as a non-executive director of five public companies of which he was Chairman of two. Awarded MBE for services to young peoples' charity Fairbridge of which he was Chairman for ten years.

Greg Bennett

Committee: Finance & Estates Committee

Greg Bennett has an MA in Modern History from Christ Church, Oxford.  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant before joining Cazenove & Co., where he was a partner and managing director.  He is currently Head of Capital Markets for Fidelity International, the global asset manager. He is a current parent of FHS Sloane Square. 

Charlotte Black

Committee: Development Committee

Charlotte Black is a Public Affairs Consultant. Previously she was Corporate Affairs Director at Brewin Dolphin (2006 – 2015) having been Marketing Director since 1992. She recently retired as a Director of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) but remains a Director of the Wealth Management Association and a member of several Advisory Committees in the City and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Michael Bowie

Committee: Education Committee

The Reverend Dr Michael Bowie is Assistant Priest at All Saints Margaret Street (Marylebone). He has a BA in Latin from the University of Sydney, an MA in Theology from St Stephen’s House, Oxford and a Classics DPhil from Corpus Christi College Oxford. His career includes parish ministry for 24 years and teaching experience in the Classics and English faculties at Oxford University and lay training in the dioceses of Llandaff, Sheffield and St Albans. He has served as Clerical Chair of the St Albans Synod and as governor of various CofE voluntary schools over many years.

Jenny Briggs

Committee: Governance & Nominations Committee

Jenny Briggs has a BA (Hons) from Bedford College, University of London; PGCE (UEA) and MA in Further and Higher Education (Institute of Education); and the CIPFA Advanced Diploma in Business & Financial Management. 30 years experience of educational administration at institutions including the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London School of Economics and King’s College London. Her career includes medical school administration, FM campus services and most recently, student services. Previously a Council member of Roedean School (2000 - June 2015) and independent lay trustee of the Faculty of Medical Leadership & Management.

Dominic Dowley

Committee: Finance & Estates Committee

Dominic Dowley QC has an MA in Music from New College, Oxford. He was called to the Bar by Gray's Inn in 1983 and took silk in 2002. He practises as a barrister, specialising in commercial and chancery matters. Married to an Old Girl of FHS Regent's Park and their five daughters all attended FHS Sloane Square.

Alison Edelshain

Alison Edelshain has a BA in History from University College London, a post-graduate diploma in Personnel Management from the LSE and an MBA from London Business School. 30 years experience of HR management, predominantly in financial services. Previous membership of the Middlesex Advisory Committee concerned with the recruitment and conduct of magistrates in the Middlesex area and current magistrate. Old Girl and former parent of FHS, former Chair of the Parents' Association and current Chairman of Quondam.

Anthony Fincham

Committee: Remuneration & HR Committee

Anthony Fincham has an MA in Modern History from Oriel College Oxford.  He is a solicitor and currently partner and Head of the UK Employment team at CMS Cameron McKenna LLP.  He is a Member of the City of London Solicitors Company Employment Law Committee and President of the Law Society Cricket Club.  Previously a Trustee of Cardinal Hume Centre, and External Advisor to Faculty in Modern History at Oxford University.

Maxine Harrison

Committtee: Education Committee

Dr Maxine Harrison has a Masters in Law from Cambridge and after qualifying as a Barrister worked in the law for almost 20 years culminating in senior legal roles at the Automobile Association and Centrica plc. In 2004 she retrained, acquiring a Doctorate in 2010 and now practises as a Chartered Psychologist, working with both adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health problems.

Jim Hawkins

Committees: Education Committee

Jim Hawkins read Mathematics at Brasenose College, Oxford.   He has spent over 20 years in teaching and is currently Head Master of Harrow School.   He is also a governor of Wellesley House, Aysgarth and Orley Farm preparatory schools.  He is a current parent of FHS Sloane Square.  

Sumita Honey

Sumita Honey attended FHS Regent's Park. She has a BA in History from UCL and has worked for more than 25 years at the Bank of England. She is also a trustee of Hymns Ancient and Modern which includes the Church Times and a publishing business.

Richard Owen

Committees: Finance & Estates Committee 

Richard Owen has a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Exeter and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a member of the RICS Compulsory Purchase and Compensation Policy Panel and the RICS Global Regulatory Board. He has spent over 30 years in the surveying profession, specialising in: development; compulsory purchase; compensation; and valuation. He is a Partner with Deloitte LLP in the real estate practice, having formerly been its managing partner.

Jonathan Parry

Committee: Education Committee, Development Committee (Chair), Chair’s Committee

Professor Jonathan Parry is a Professor of Modern British History at Cambridge University. He studied for his MA and Ph.D at Cambridge. He has published many books and articles about aspects of nineteenth century Britain, particularly British political history.

Ian Ramsay

Ian Ramsay has a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering Science from Edinburgh University and subsequently qualified as a chartered accountant at Price Waterhouse in London.   He is recently retired, having spent over 25 years in the corporate finance sector, combining City and international (European and Asian) experience.  He remains a non executive director of the group holding company of Platinum Securities (a boutique multi-discipline financial services group in Hong Kong) and was previously a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of the charity Lattitude Global Volunteering.

Novella de Renzo

Novella De Renzo graduated from Bocconi University with a 110/110 cum laude grade in Economics.  She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Italy, and subsequently in England and Wales, and has spent 20 years in the corporate sector, specialising in operating models, transfer pricing and tax and is currently Director of Value Chain Transformation and Transfer Pricing at PwC. She is a current parent of FHS Regent's Park.

Rachael Robathan

Committees: Development Committee

Rachael Robathan is Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Public Health at Westminster City Council and Chairman of the Westminster Health & Wellbeing Board.   Her career includes 18 years in investment management, including as a Director with a global remit at Pictet & Cie and AIB Govett.  Previously non executive member of the Board of The Big Lottery Fund and Advisory Board of Metrobank and undertaken several voluntary roles including Westminster Representative on the Greater London Reserve Forces Cadet Association.  Former parent of FHS Sloane Square. 

Sue Ross

Sue Ross has a BSc in Physics from Manchester University and a PGCE from the University of Cambridge. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and taught in maintained and independent schools, including being Head of Sir William Perkins’s School, Chertsey, for 13 years. Currently a Quality Assurance Officer for the Independent Schools Council Teacher Induction Panel and a Governor of a Prep School and a maintained Senior School.

Helen Spoudeas

Committee: Education Committee

Dr Helen Spoudeas is a consultant paediatric endocrinologist at Gt Ormond St and University College Hospitals and honorary senior lecturer at UCL with specific interest in the neuro endocrine consequences of childhood brain and other tumours. She qualified from St Bartholomews Hospital London MBBS, is a fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (FRCP) and Child Health (FRCPCH) and obtained her doctorate from London University MD. She has over 30 years medical experience (20 in paediatrics), maintains a keen interest in teaching / lecturing, was regional adviser to paediatric trainees at London deanery and was an FHS parent.

George Stead

George Stead is a director of several private companies, including a company providing software to businesses working in the construction and property sector. He has 30 years experience running and growing businesses engaged in the property sector, commercial and residential. His daughters attended Francis Holland Sloane Square.

Marie Winckler

Committees: Chair of Governors, and member of Finance & Estates, Governance & Nominations, Remuneration & HR, Development Committees, Chair’s Committee

Marie Winckler is a retired senior civil servant who worked in policy and management in central government, with outward secondments to local government and the private sector. Her experience encompasses housing, urban regeneration, fire service modernisation and central and regional management functions. Since retirement she has served as a charity trustee, including as Council member of Roedean School (2006- December 2015). She has an MA in History from Cambridge.

 

Julia Yeomans

Committee: Education Committee

Julia Yeomans is Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford and Pauline Chan Fellow and Tutor in Physics at St Hilda’s College. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society with interests spanning fluid mechanics, statistical physics, and biological physics.

Pupils are very happy and comfortable in their school environment, and find staff approachable, caring and dedicated to their needs. Teachers know the pupils very well.
